Students can understand and respond to simple sentences. They can communicate basic needs and ideas using simple sentences. Students know some basic English grammar and can write personal information and simple affirmative sentences with assistance. The class will work on the continued development of grammar, reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Grammar Focus:
- Present/ Present Continuous/Auxiliary verbs
- Negative statements
- Question formation
- Correct word order
- Introduction to past tense
Communication Skills:
- Generate original statements (likes, dislikes, descriptions)
- Ask and respond to simple questions related to basic needs
- Simple social conversations on familiar topics
- Write lists, fill out forms
